How to prepare for the biggest event for freelancers

Find answers to your questions about the Freelance Business Month
The Freelance Business Month is almost here, starting on 1 October, and we want to make sure you have all the information you need to make the most out of this opportunity. This article will cover the most important aspects of the event, such as the structure, the event platform and how to connect with others. Let's begin!

What is Freelance Business Month?

Freelance Business Month is a month-long event, dedicated to uniting the freelance ecosystem of independent workers, contractors, service providers, recruiters, and anyone interested in the opportunities this segment of workers has to offer. It aims to raise the voice of the freelance community while teaching, inspiring and connecting independent professionals from all around the globe.

The event will take place between 1 and 31 October 2021 and will offer plenty of opportunities to meet like-minded freelancers and expand your network, while learning from top industry experts. Last year's event saw speakers who have worked with companies like Google, Microsoft, Forbes and NASA. This year promises to match the calibre of experts you can connect with and learn from (see the event programme here). You just need to make sure you are registered!

Event structure

The event is divided into five parts, each one featuring talks dedicated to a specific topic.
1-4 October: Future of Freelancing
We will begin by looking at where the freelance industry is heading worldwide.
5-11 October: Starting Freelancing
Thinking of starting to freelance? This week will focus on preparing you for your journey.
12-18 October: Growing Freelancing
You will learn more advanced skills to propel your freelance career forward.
19-25 October: European Freelance Week
We will be celebrating the European Freelance Week and learning more about where the freelance ecosystem is heading.
26-31 October: Future of work and HR
To finish off, we will look at how HR and talent acquisition managers can benefit from freelance talent.

How can I register?

You need to simply go to the event page and click on Registration. From there, just choose your tickets. For individual freelancers, we offer a limited quantity of free tickets, so be quick and grab one so you don't risk losing out. When the free tickets run out, you will be able to buy one for €35. Apart from access to all the event presentations, you will be able to join our exclusive Freelance Business Slack channel, get the option to view replays of the talks, receive a goodybag and much more!

If you are a company looking for freelance talent, you will get the chance to purchase the Company ticket, which allows you to publish your available positions and find talent throughout the event - more on that below.

As soon as you register, you will get an email with your ticket. Now you only have to wait for the event to start!
How do I use event platform?
The event will run on a digital platform, where apart from hosting the talks, it allows you to create and customise your profile, connect social accounts and introduce yourself to the other event attendees by using the internal chat system and find relevant connections via a powerful AI engine. The event page will also feature a list of the presentations and workshops and the option to register for the ones you're interested in.

Closer to the event, you will receive an email from us with instructions on how to complete your registration and join the event, so keep an eye on your inbox!

To help you orient yourself easier in the app, Elina Jutelyte has made a fantastic video explanation. See it here:
Can I connect with other freelancers?
During the whole event, you will have the opportunity to meet like-minded freelancers and exchange contact information. You can reach out through the event platform, as well as exchange LinkedIn profiles. No need to be shy – we actively encourage networking and will have mixers and collaborative workshops where you can meet other friendly freelancers. If you're still now sure meeting tons of new people is a good idea, maybe our article can convince you!
Looking for jobs and assignments? Or would you like to post open vacancies?
If you're looking for new work opportunities during the Freelance Business Month, you will be able to meet interested recruiters and match your skills to their open positions. The job finding opportunities will be powered by Recorem - a platform where you can view vacancies, available exclusively to event attendees. You will get a response within 72 hours and see how your skills compared to those of other applicants. See how to use Recorem as an attendee here:
If you are a recruiter looking for the right freelance talent for your positions, Recorem will match your vacancies with the most suitable candidates and achieve the lowest cost per hire. One Corporate ticket for the event will allow you to post an unlimited amount of jobs. See how to take advantage of the platform in this tutorial and book your Corporate ticket here:
Our massive Freelance Business Month event is just days away! We're super excited to share with you all the awesomeness we have prepared, and we hope you will learn plenty and walk away with many new connections! Grab your ticket now here!
